Clean it Up

Be a responsible dog owner and use the poop scoop bins provided to help us keep the beach a clean and safe place for everyone to enjoy.

No Dogs On The Beach

Between 1st May and 30th September Dogs are banned from the beach except for the areas which have been set aside for exercise of dogs

From1st May and 30th September Dogs must be kept on a lead when on the promenade, Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers, cliff paths and zig zags.

Cyclists and pedestrians

The promenade is to be used and enjoyed by pedestrians and cyclists together. Cyclists Must Give Way To Pedestrians - They Have The Right Of Way

Cycle Slowly

When cycling on the promenade keep your speed down. Please don't cycle at more than 10mph.

Dismount

Please dismount and push your bike when you see this sign

No Cycling

Where you see this sign cycling is prohibited at all times. Please be a responsible cyclist - dismount and Push Your Bike

Orange Windsock

If you see the orange windsock displayed, it indicates offshore wind conditions. You should NEVER use an inflatable when the sock is flying.

Red and Yellow Flag

The red and yellow flag indicates that the area is patrolled by lifeguards and means that the area is safe for swimming, bodyboarding and using inflatables. Boats, personal watercraft, wind/kite surfers and large solid body boards are not permitted in these areas

Black and White Flag

A black and white chequered flag means an area of water is being used by watercraft such as surfboards, paddleboards, kayaks and other non-powered craft. It is also a launch and recovery area for kitesurfers and windsurfers. You should not swim or bodyboard in these areas. Do look out for these flags as there are various zones along the beaches which are set aside for these watersport activities.
