Bournemouth Borough Council's look back at the highlights in Bournemouth 2017 including 18 Green Flag awards, a new one received for Boscombe Overcliff Gardens, 200 Million investment into the area at Lansdowne, The beach management scheme continued at a pace and replaced 30 groynes, 15 overnight beach pods at Manor Steps proved to be popular for visitors, 45.2 million has been secured for transport and infrastructure improvements with Bournemouth International Growth Programme. 688 happy couples (we hope) got married on the beach in Bournemouth. 600 children learnt how to ride a bike. A new regional adoption service. 11400 sustainable journeys were made in the Bournemouth Commuter Challenge. The council completed their first shared ownership housing scheme.
A new memorial garden at Spyglass Point, 2nd Phase of development at Pier Approach, Alum Chine gained a 'Treasure Island' themed play area, The John Egging Memorial was relocated, 710, 000 people arrived at the Air Festival and 120,000 went to the Arts By The Sea Festival

BBHA re-formed as an association to represent the interests of beach hut tenants and owners In March 2009 when Bournemouth Borough Council advised us that beach huts on the Seafront would be liable for non-domestic rates.
